While some people go on a vacation to unwind and simply bask in the sun, there are those who want to take in as much culture and history as they can in the places that they visit. Mexico is one place that holds this in abundance, and taking in the sites and absorbing the culture of the land can be easily done in some of these places in the country while you stay in one of the many Grupo Mayan Resorts and Hotels that can be found here.

San Diego Fort in Acapulco

This old fort in the city of Acapulco is one of the many historical places you can find yourself enjoying. The beautiful sights you can see from the fortress includes the harbor, the main reason why the fortress was built in the year 1616. It was first constructed 400 years ago to help defend the city from attacks by pirates from this same harbor. Despite how sturdily it was built, the fort suffered damages during a very strong earthquake and had to be rebuilt and refortified in 1776. This fort is found in the area that is called Old Acapulco.

The Mayan Ruins in Cancun

No visit to Mexico-and to Cancun, in particular-would be complete without a small trip to the famous Mayan Ruins. These ruins are said to be the birthplace of civilization, and the people who visit these ruins often look in awe at the huge structures that once housed one of the oldest civilizations known to man. These ruins are said to be one of the most impressive of its kind as well and is steeped in historical value. People who love history and who followed the story of the rise and fall of the Mayan civilization would definitely love to come to Cancun to view these majestic structures.

Puerto Vallarta and the Sierra Madres

If nature tripping is your cup of tea, then a trip to Puerto Vallarta that offers you a grand view of the majestic Sierra Madre Mountains is what you need. You can even enjoy a meal and listen to the meandering of the Tuito River from a restaurant that is found within the lush, tropical foliage of the region. You can also enjoy the wonders of nature here with an adventure called a canopy tour. You will find yourself zipping through the forests of Puerto Vallarta and taking in the many wonders that nature has to offer in this exhilarating 30-km-per hour ride above the treetops. Get to see waterfalls, rivers, and animals indigent to the land in this ecological adventure.

Going sightseeing is just one of the many activities you can indulge in while in Mexico. After a day of exciting but often tiring trips to these sights that only Mexico can give you, you can then relax in the comfort of your hotel room or in one of the luxurious accommodation options you can have in one of the many Grupo Mayan Hotels and Resorts in these areas. A tour of these attractions can even be booked via these wonderful hotels you can stay in, making these resorts the ideal choice for you when you go on a vacation in Mexico.
