As you walk along Xalapa’s cobblestone streets you can marvel at beautiful examples of neoclassic, neogothic and Moorish constructions built in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Palacio de Gobierno. Located on Enriquez Street, in front of the Cathedral. This pink stone edifice is a neoclassic construction. Inside you’ll see a gorgeous mural that chronicles the history of the justice system, which is the work of artist Mario Orozco Rivera.

Palacio Municipal. Located on Enriquez Street, next to the Cathedral. This three-story Moorish building has a façade with hinged arches and Tuscan columns with plain shafts.

Catedral (Cathedral). Located on Enriquez Street, in front of the Palacio de Gobierno. This edifice was built in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is a blend of architectural styles, the most notable being neogothic. Inside you’ll see a gothic-style altar, choir stalls and a tubular organ.
