Many of the edifices that you’ll see in San Blas were built in the 18^th century. Today, they are among some of the state’s most important historic monuments.

Templo de la Virgen del Rosario. Located in the so-called Cerro de San Basilio, also known as La Contaduria. This colonial-style building has a stone façade and walls supported by wide columns. On the walls you’ll see two medallion bas-reliefs depicting two Spanish kings. Also of interest are the remains of the church’s baroque-style nave. Open daily from 8:00 to 7:00.

Fuerte de la Contaduria (Contaduria Fort). Located in the so-called Cerro de San Basilio, also known as La Contaduria. A striking feature on this colonial structure is the huge rectangular windows with basket-handle arches. You also can check out the fort’s main patio, the walkways and the cannons. Open daily from 8:00 to 7:00.

Antigua Aduana. Located in downtown San Blas. This colonial structure was San Blas’ old customs building. Today, you can see what’s left of the walls and the arches on the main façade. Open daily from 8:00 to 7:00..
