Museo Arqueologico de Xel-Há. Located in the Xel-Há Ecological Park, 113 km (70 mi) south of Cancun on Highway 307 to Tulum. This archaeological museum has pre-Hispanic artifacts, maps and diagrams that reveal intricate details about Mayan culture and history. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 5:00.

Museo Pablo Bush Romero. Located in Puerto Aventuras, 98 km (60 mi.) south of Cancun, on Highway 307. Named after Bush Romero, a famous diver in the region. This museum displays an extensive collection of marine objects and equipment used decades ago to explore underwater life.

Museo del Centro de Estudios y Deportes Acuaticos de Mexico (CEDAM). Located in Puerto Aventuras, 98 km (60 mi.) south of Cancun, on Highway 307. On display are numerous objects found at sunken ship sites, all of which are fascinating for boating enthusiasts.

Museo de Guerra de Castas. Located in the town of Tihosuco, 81 km (50 mi) northwest of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The building of this museum was constructed in the 18^th century; it has six showrooms and a botanical garden. Here you’ll find paintings, photographs, documents, models and other objects that tell the history of the 19^th century Caste War. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00..
