To the north of
Puerto Vallarta lies the so-called hidden pearl: Talpa de Allende, a
pilgrimage site where hundreds of followers go every year to
venerate the image of the Virgin del Rosario de Talpa in the Parish
of San Jose, or in the religious museum of the Holy Virgin. Four
festivals are held each year to honor the Virgin del Rosario de
Talpa, the largest takes place March 11-19th and commemorating St.
Joseph.
