The surrounding areas of Morelia allow you to enjoy various adrenaline-charged adventures full of exciting action. The rugged terrain and the various trails provide ideal settings for mountain biking and hiking. You can reach the peaks of some natural lookout points by hang gliding.

Jesus del Monte – Located 7 km (4 mi) southeast of Morelia. In these lush green forests of pine trees and Encino oaks, you can have the thrilling experience of riding a mountain bike down steep rugged paths.

Mil Cumbres – Lies 23 km (14 mi) east of Morelia along Highway 15. Once a main volcanic region in Michoacan, the rough terrain provides a bundle of opportunities to do mountain biking, in both sloped and flat areas. Here you can also take off from a cliff and go paragliding.

Pico de Quinceo Pico de Quinceo – Located northwest of downtown Morelia, near the Quinceo neighborhood. At this inactive volcano site you can find various lookouts that offer magnificent hang gliding opportunities, allowing you to take in beautiful scenery as you soar high above the Michoacan Sierras.

La Escalera – Located in Charo, 24 km (15 mi) northeast of Morelia along Highway 126. For those who thrive off the rush of soaring high in the sky, this has become a favorite spot for paragliding enthusiasts – it has even hosted various free-flying competitions.
