In Mazatlan you can appreciate the art and culture that have come to characterize the city. Its museums exhibit contemporary and historical pieces of world famous artists.

Museo de Arte – Located at Sixto Osuna and Carranza streets in the Historic Center. This museum has a permanent collection of such artists as Jose Luis Cuevas, Rufino Tamayo and Francisco Toledo. It also has showrooms that have monthly exhibitions of local, national and international artists. Open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 to 2:00 and 4:00 to 7:00.

Museo Arqueologico – Located at 76 Sixto Osuna, near Paseo Olas Altas. This museum of archaeology has displays that provide information on Sinaloa’s history, important archaeological treasures in the state’s southern territory, and pre-Hispanic culture that flourished in the region. Open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 to 1:00 and 4:00 to 7:00.
