Near Manzanillo there are two beautiful natural areas where you can observe wonderful flora and fauna or go on a photo safari to take pictures of hundreds of birds in flight.

Peña Blanca – Located near the coast of Playa de Oro, 40 km (25 mi) northwest of Manzanillo, off Highway 200. To arrive at this place you’ll need to take a boat ride. This is a natural refuge for thousands of aquatic birds, making it the ideal destination to observe fauna.

Puente Tepalcates – Located at the Cuyutlan Lagoon, 14 km (9 mi) east of Manzanillo, off Highway 200. This is the perfect place to observe various bird species, including the northern pintail, the black-bellied whistling duck and other species that inhabit the lagoon’s waters..
