Guanajuato has numerous markets and shopping malls selling just about everything you’ll need. During your shopping outing, one of the best places to enjoy regional cuisine and purchase various goods is the Hidalgo market, located on Avenida Juarez. The Gavira market also serves excellent Mexican fare. As you walk around in the downtown area you’ll find many establishments selling a wide array of crafts, regional sweets, toys, furniture, clothes and antiques. A good place to find some of these items is at the Plaza de Baratillos, located behind the Belen church.
