Guanajuato is known as one of the nation’s most important cities when it comes to promoting art, culture and humanities with other countries.

International Cervantes Festival – This extraordinary cultural festival takes place in the month of October. It brings together thousands of local and international artists who do dance, music and theatre. During the festival, the streets of Guanajuato become a non-stop fiesta. The festival, now 33-years strong, is one of the most important cultural events in Guanajuato and Mexico.

Hot Air Balloon Festival – This festival takes place in the city of Leon in December. It is one of the most awaited sporting events in the region, as it brings together the world’s top pilots in a competition that colors the sky.

Teatro Juarez (Juarez Theater) – Located on Sopeña Street. One of the main venues of the International Cervantes Festival and also a majestic building that host various cultural events, such as theatrical performances, ballet, concerts and photo and art exhibits. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:00 to 1:45 and 5:00 to 7:45.

Parque Metropolitano de Leon – Located at the Presa del Palote on Blvd. Jose Maria Morelos. This natural area has some of the best facilities in Leon.
