In Cuernavaca’s environs
you can enjoy various extreme sports, including mountain biking,
parachuting, or you can go for a ride on an ultralight aircraft,
which affords a beautiful view of the landscapes below.
Lagunas de Zempoala National Park. Located 25 km (15 mi)
northwest of Cuernavaca, off Highway 95. This 4669-hectare
(11,523-acre) park has seven lagoons and pine and fir forests. This
park has diverse trails that are ideal for mountain biking; the park
rangers can tell you about the most interesting routes.
Tequesquitengo Lake. Located 37 km (23 mi) south of
Cuernavaca. At this place you’ll find the Vista Hermosa Airdrome,
where you can take flights on ultralight aircrafts and small planes.
You can also do parachuting and freefall sky diving at 200 km/h (124
mph). You should do all these activities under the supervision of an
instructor.
