In the city of Valladolid, located 45 km (28 mi) east of Chichen Itza, you can witness the festivities of Candlemas, which take place between Jan. 25 and Feb. 2. You can also enjoy the celebration of the Divino Redentor (Divine Redeemer), which features music, dance and fireworks shows during the last two weeks of December.
