The natural environments in Campeche’s surrounding areas are perfect for camping outings, and while you’re there you can learn about the wildlife conservation programs to protect the hawksbill sea turtle’s nesting grounds.

Campamento Tortuguero de Chenkan – Located at Km 101.5 on the Carmen-Campeche Highway. At this site you can go camping and learn about a conservation program to protect sea turtles. During your stay, you should be careful not to interfere with the conservation efforts in progress.

Ensenada de Xpicob – This place has a designated camping area, a dining area, ecological cabins and tour guides. Near the beach you’ll find floating cages that serve as an artificial reef to protect such species as the yellowtail..
