Aguascalientes has diverse contemporary art and history museums with a rich offering of art and culture.

Museo de Aguascalientes – Located at 505 Zaragoza Street. The façade of this museum is of neoclassical style. The showrooms in the first patio have itinerant exhibitions, temporary exhibits of diverse artists and a special collection of the works of Gabriel Fernandez Ledesma. The second patio displays the art of Saturnino Herran, a famed painter from Aguascalientes. The hallways and the museum’s gardens are ornamented with sculptures by artists German Cueto, Charlotte Yzbek and Jesus F. Contreras. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.

Museo de Arte Contemporaneo Numero 8 – Located at the corner of Primo Verdad and Morelos. This museum has six showrooms with such exhibits as the paintings and other works of art by Gabriel Fernandez Ledesma. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.

Museo Regional de Historia – Located at 111 Venustiano Carranza Street. This beautiful museum is housed in an old mansion with a neoclassical facade. It has two patios, one of which is art nouveau style and features nine showrooms with exhibits of photos, maps, documents and various objects from distinct periods in Mexican history. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.

Museo Jose Guadalupe Posada – Located on the northern end of the Jardin de la Paz. This museum is dedicated to famed engraver Jose Guadalupe Posada, who was born in Aguascalientes. His art, which depicts themes of the revolution, often criticized the government of that era. Open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00.

Museo Interactivo de Ciencia y Tecnologia Descubre – Located on Blvd. Jose Maria Chavez. The main themes of this modern museum are life sciences, earth sciences and social phenomena. The exhibits are interactive, allowing visitors to learn in a fun atmosphere. The museum also has a large dome screen with a 136º angle. Open daily from 10:00 to 6:00..
