For nature enthusiasts,
the surrounding areas of Aguascalientes have excellent camping sites,
ideal weather, abundant vegetation, mountain areas and plains.
What’s more, the grounds are easy to reach from the city.
Presa de Los Alamitos (Los Alamitos Dam). To arrive at this
dam, take the Aguascalientes-Calvillo Highway 70 to Jalitiche de
Arriba, then follow a dirt-road turnoff for 16 km (10 mi) to the
town of Los Alisos. The dam is surrounded by a dense oak forest,
which is perfect for camping. Near the dam, during the rainy season,
you’ll see waterfalls with a 70-meter (231-foot) drop. The area is
relatively unknown, yet it offers splendid scenery, allowing you to
have a thoroughly enjoyable nature experience.
Ejido Ecoturistico El Ocote. Lies 22 km (14 mi) southwest of
Aguascalientes, off the Villa Hidalgo Highway. These commons have a
designated camping area in a gorgeous natural setting with potable
water and security services.
