Near Aguascalientes you can visit a very singular archaeological zone, which is one of the region’s main tourist attractions.

El Ocote – Located 36 km (22 mi) southwest of Aguascalientes. To arrive here, take Highway 71 in the direction of Villa Hidalgo and head past the Tolimique Dam. These ruins lie in a rocky area known as Cerro de los Tecuanes, where has various cave paintings.
